Foundations

This topic will review concepts in earth science that have previously been discussed and will expand upon the principles that help us interpret planet Earth. As we move throughout the year, we will revisit these concepts and apply our knowledge to specific topics.

Observation and Inference

Students will be able to tell the difference between an inference and observation and apply that knowledge to scientific principles.

Measurement

Students will be able to recognize and determine the different methods in which scientist gather, analyze and record information.

Density and Percent Error

Students will be able to calculate density using mass and volume measurements and be able to calculate the percent error from their measurements.

Graphing Analysis

Students will be able to recognize the different relationships that exist when graphing and extrapolate data to make predictions.

Topic Test Review

Students will review the concepts and key ideas from the Foundations topic in preparation for their exam.
